What is Activists means?

Activists are individuals who actively campaign for social, political, environmental, or economic change. They engage in various activities like protests, advocacy, lobbying, and education to promote their cause. In India, there are several notable activists such as Mahatma Gandhi, Anna Hazare, Medha Patkar, and Aruna Roy, among others. These activists have contributed to societal change through nonviolent resistance, advocacy for human rights, environmental conservation, and empowerment of marginalized communities.

According to the Mariam Webster Dictionary Activists means... one who advocates or practices activism : a person who uses or supports strong actions (such as public protests) in support of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue.

Like,Antiwar activists were protesting in the streets,

an environmental activist, or

political activists.

Many activists receive recognition for their work through awards like the Nobel Peace Prize, Padma Awards in India, and various international accolades. To promote their activities, you can support their causes by volunteering, spreading awareness on social media, donating to their organization, or participating in their events and campaigns. Your involvement and support can significantly contribute to advancing their causes and creating positive change in society.

What is basic difference between Activists and Politicians?

Activists: They are individuals or groups who advocate for specific social, political, environmental, or other causes. They operate outside traditional political structures and often use grassroots movements, protests, awareness campaigns, and direct action to raise awareness and bring about change. Their primary goal is often to influence policy or public opinion.

Politicians: They work within established political systems, holding positions in governments or political parties. Politicians create, influence, and implement policies through legislative processes. Their focus is on governance, administration, and creating and amending laws within the frameworks of their respective political systems.

While both activists and politicians may have similar goals of societal improvement, their approaches and positions in effecting change differ - activists often work from the outside to push for change, while politicians operate within established systems to implement change through official channels.
