Q. Gulliver's travels as a satire upon Human nature

Introduction :-Many authors write books about events, their lives and their environment and their corrupt government. One satirical author who wrote a novel about living in a corrupt  society is Johnathan swift who wrote Gulliver's travels.in his novel Gulliver's travels swift satirizes this English society in many ways.in the novel, swift uses metaphors to reveal his disapproval of English Society.
Throughout his journeys Gulliver come into contact with several people all of which are narrow minded in some way.Lilliputians who have  civil wars with a neighboring island called Blefescu, over the correct way to cut upon an egg. Such squabbles over unimportant matters are a common object of satire.even the houyhnhnms, who are so revered by Gulliver cannot belive there are other reasonable ways of living.
:- On his first voyage swift places Gulliver in a land of miniature people where his giant size is meant as a metaphor for his superiority over Lilliputians, thus representing English society's belief in superiority over all other cultures.
Lilliputian the people gain their political power in the strangest and silliest way. The emporer holds a stick out in front of the person and in order for the person to get the highest position possible.they must be able to jump over or crawl under  the stick depending How the emporer position it. The emporer may raise the stick and lower it for whomever he wants.

:-The second place Gulliver arrives is Brobdingnag, where Gulliver is viewed as the inferior.Due to his miniature size Gulliver is able to examine the human body in much more detailed manner. His time here not only gives Gulliver an understanding of what it is like to be powerless but it also shows Gulliver how the Lilliputians must have felt when near him. Swift uses the maids of honor  as a metaphor to comment on the women of England whom among 18th century English Society, were belived to be the most beautiful of all the world. At point during Gulliver's stay in Brobdingnag swift comments almost directly on his distance for the self imposed supremacy  of English Society over all other cultures nd human nature .It happens when the king of the land his majesty comment on " how contemptible a thing was human grandeur, which could be mimicked by such diminatve insect as Gulliver. "
Here Swift bluntly criticizes the attitude of humans for considering themselves to be so high in rank and eminence,by implying that even the smallest and least civilized creature could assume  such a high degree of superiority.

:-On Laputa, the floating island, swift  creates a way ofphysically stratifying a Society those those who work with their hands for a living and the ridiculous professors live on Balnibarbi. The upper class including the royal family and the more able intellectuals live on the floating     island of Laputa. In this way swift makes the separation between the two types of people visually obvious, with the better above the lesser.
:-In the country of the Houyhnhnms,Gulliver meets the species that is the most skeptical of him and for good reason Gulliver must do everything he can to separate himself from the Yahoos,a very different situation from his distinct  position in Lilliputian and Brobdingnag. In order to accomplish this Gulliver does small thing daily like using his best manners...eating with a knife and fork keeping his clothes on,and being as clean as possible. He shows that he can use language...can reason well and can be prudent and mannerly.Through the Yahoos,Gulliver has come to see awful aspects of human nature.

SUM UP :- Throughout his journeys Gulliver come into contact with several different races of people all which are narrow minded in some way, Many of the people are conspicuously narrow minded.Such as the  Lilliputians wars over the correct way to cut An egg even the Houyhnhnms ,who are so revered by Gulliver cannot belive there are other reasonable ways to living.
Much of Swifts satirical focus is on people or Human's nature who cannot see past their own ways their own power or their own beliefs.
