* My Views on this novel as reader...
      At the end of novel we came to know that this is the life story of Jagatsinh urf '' Jagga Daku ''. It seems Imaginary story because there is many incident looks like miracle. Novel starts with the 'Revenge'. Seeds of Revenge graws up in Jagatsinh's mind and it turned into him as ' Daku ' (bandit)...

     This all are the theme of book we can say that it is not a single or story of one man but the whole novel included many stories. Each character in the novel have their own struggle for safety, for peace, for 'સુખ' and as our writer says ' સુખ એક ભ્રમ છે. હાથ તાળી આપી ને છટકી જાય છે.
     Revenge is the centre theme of Novel Jagatsinh and his family have conflict with their neighbor from the decades.... But twist is that when Jagatsinh come back in his village from his ' Nana's home ' for taking revenge with Mohansinh and his three brothers, he falls in love with ' Viro ' wife of Mohansinh and that's how story goes on. Jagatsinh starts ' Baharvatu or Dakugiri ' without thinking anything.
     The seeds of poison are sprouted in Jagatsinh's mind, which was sawn by his Nana Narayansihn. By hook or crook he goes with this bitterness in his mind. Every time anyhow he do in eye of police. But, he have their own rules and regulation which he never abonded.
     Honshiyar, Bachchan, Hanuman, Kripal four are best friend of Jagatsinh with the help of he starts his journey as Daku and till the end all of trusted to each other and at the closing part of Novel Kartara done all the good for Jagatsinh. Thus, this all are the character through them we came to know about their friendship.
     Suchhasinh Jakhmi, Hansraj, chhanna, Hajarasinh, Gurubaksh, Mahindersihn, all are the very loyal towards Jagatsinh. In different are instances they all played their role truly amazing. When we think our self in their place, a great fear or selfishness rise in our mind . The courage of to do something for someone is we can see in this all characters.
     If we move towards all the major female characters....there is
-- Chandan Kaur (wife of Jagatsinh)
-- Maya Kaur ( Mother of Jagatsinh)
-- Veero ( Lover of Jagatsinh and Wife of Mohansinh)
-- Achala ( lover of Bachhan)
-- Guruballi ( Shishya of Jagatsinh)
-- Savan Kaur ( Cousin Sister of Chandan)
-- Saniya ( Gurubaksh's lover)
   This all are the female character except the character of Savan Kaur all the female character seems very kind and generous.
      At the last in character list I wanna discuss 3 characters which is I liked too much while reading Novel. Even after reading it put deep impact on readers mind.
--> Father of Jagatsinh- Sohan sinh
--> Christian Doctor
--> Madan Mohan Mehta
      Sohansinh is real father of Jagatsinh, I found through out the Novel that the only man who struggle a lot more than anyone even at last he didn't find a single drop of happiness.
      Second one is Christian Doctor, life saver of Jagatsinh. Who saw the hope in all the family member of Jagatsinh and even on readers too, that Jagatsinh will come back on the path of good life.
      And the third and last one is Madan Mehta real life gives of Jagatsinh who turned him into Jagatsinh from Jagga Daku. A very kind and honest man who just heard a few line of song from Jagatsinh's voice and at the end he made him as singer or artist.
      Thus, this is the story of ups and down when we think that સુખ આવ્યુ... આવ્યુ પણ એ દુર ને દુર જતુ હોય. When someone to fell short of at that time they need someone like Madan Mohan Mehta and then tug of war starts in one's mind and finally up to the mark of hope. Triumph of Truth.
      All in all it seem that miracle happened in Novel because Daku like Jagga will never can come out from prison and the description of pain which is given to Jagatsinh in prison is unbearable. But at the end of the 3rd part when I read conclusion I got big surprise that this is not imaginary story, It is a real life story of Jagatsinh story of Revenge but journey of his life turned him into Artist. How unbelievable journey of real life. Thank you to Harkishan Maheta for this amazing suspense, thriller and true story.

* My critique on Novel..
      Normally we have stories of ''Heros '' who fight against evil but here writer made different, Harkishan Maheta write story of 'Daku' and made him real hero. Jagga didn't fight against evil but he fight against his own Ideals. Thus, here writer breaks the formal structure of Novel and deconstruct the rigid. Ideology of orthodox mind that evil can not change, but through this true writer makes it possible.

Theory of Structuralism

   * Being a structuralist critic, how would you analyse literary text or TV serial or Film? You can select any image or TV serial or film or literary text or advertisement. Apply structuralist method.  
        
The novelty of Literature is surprizing, curiosity in other words what is important in any narration , when we read literature? This is that what we expect that doesn't happen but somthing else happen. Thus, this all about narration and decription is calls Structuralism. It is focus on structure, symbol and design.
Gerard Genette writes an essay ' Structuralism and Literary Criticism' in this essay he disscused the idea of Structuralism, what Strcturalist crtitics do and believes.

Structuralism in this advertisememt
Of Samsung service.
                    

This is the add of Samsung Service.
Analysis of this add from the views of Structuralism.
There is the maker of  advertisement uses this basic theme that somebody who wants do something good or going to lend a hand to needy, who always find difficulites in his way and at last reach to aim. Here the same idea applies but i want to discuss some symbols .

Here in this both the images we can find that traveller passing throgh the troubles. Sheeps are also indicates the same thing in add. This is the same theme we can find in many movies and novels also like in Bajarangi bhaijan, Kahani, bhag milkha bhag in all this protogonist passing throgh many problems and ultimately meet to the aim.
This scene is symbol of dying day, it means before the end of day (before the deadline one should reach at destination.) and when Service Man reach at Addressed point we can see the light of van highlighted by   camera it shows that he comes as lamp in darkness. 

Both are the light 1.sun 2.headlight of van but it used as paradox.

Here, this scene shows the image of French Educator Louis Braille, who is inventor of system of reading and writting for blind people the same way here the service man had been seen us as Louis Braille who is only hope of this blind girl.

If we minuetly observe the expression of Service man we can see the many changes because when he found that the girl who eagerly waiting for TV show at 7pm. She is blind , we can see shockness on his face and at last when he saw the all blind childrens are how happily enjoying and that's the way when Servicecman Returning we can see the smile of triumph on his face.

Thus we can come to conclusion that narratolgy of this advertisement is predictive but uses of symols makes it more polysemy.

● Significance of ' FIRE ' and ' ICE ' in the both poems : 1) Fire and Ice by Robert Frost and 2) Ice and Fire by Edmund Spenser.


Here by reading both the poem we can say that rejection of authorical intention and advocacy of polysamy lead us towards the various differnt meaning of the poem. Latent meaning of words creats differnt image of same word as here both the poet take same words Ice And Fire but hidden meaning of it and how they connect with it diffrent kinds of metaphor is total oppsite.

દોરીની આત્મકથા


कहानी तो सबकी लाजवाब होती हैं
 चाहे वह  गगन छूऐ या मिट्टी में मिल जाए
 आरंभ से अंत की  दास्ताँ जवाँ होती है...

 હું પતંગથી છૂટી પડેલી...
 મારા જ સાથીઓ વડે મારી જ ફીરકી થી કપાયેલી...
 અને
 ક્યારેય ન ઉકેલાઇ શકે એવી દોરીની ગુન્છ છું.

મને એનો કોઈ રંજ નથી કે હવે હું અહીઁ જ રહીશ અને મારું સૌંદર્ય પતંગ કપાતાં ની સાથે  જ ઉડીને પુરૂ થઈ ગયુ પરંતુ, મને આનંદ તો એ વાતનો છે કે  મે જીવી જાણ્યું, મેં એ કરી બતાવ્યું જે મારા જીવનનો ઉદ્દેશ્ય હતો. આજે આ સુકાયેલાં પાંદડાં સાથે મારી પણ ખરી પડેલી જિંદગીને જોઈને ખીલવાના આનંદની યાદ કરું છું.
આમ તો પૃથ્વી પરના સ્થૂળ કે સૂક્ષ્મ દરેકને નામ હોય છે અને એ જ આપણને સમૂહથી આગવી ઓળખ આપે છે. કેવી અજીબ વાત છે ને એકસરખી માટીમાંથી સર્જાયેલા ને પાછા ભિન્ન ભિન્ન! આમ તો બધા મને દોરી ના નામથી ઓળખે છે પરંતુ એમાંય પાછા પ્રકારો મોટા મોટા વહાણોમાં દોરડાથી લઈને નાનકડા ફાટી ગયેલા કાપડના કાણાને જોડતા રેસાને પણ દોરી જ કહેવાય છે. આમ, દોરડાથી લઈને દોરા સુધીના બધા જ દોરી ના પ્રકારો.

ક્યારે હું કપાસમાંથી દોરી બનીને આ સરસ પેકેટમાં એક લય મા બેઠી ગઇ એની મને ખબર પણ નથી... કારણ, શું હોય??? ટેકનોલોજી બીજું શું?! એકમાંથી બીજામાં અને બીજામાંથી ત્રીજામાં એમ અનેક મશીનમાંથી પસાર થઇને તૈયાર થઈ પણ મને હંમેશા માનવીય  લાગણીની ઝખંના રહેતી પણ, હવે એ'ય પૂરી થવાની હતી. જેવી મને એક માણસે ખરીદીને લઈ ગયો, મને રંગવા મતલબ મને વધુ મજબૂત બનાવવા માટે અને ત્યાં થતાં માઁજાવાળા ના હાથના સ્પર્શે અહેસાસ કરાવ્યો કે.. 'ઊડવુ છે તો પહેલા લાયકાત કેળવી લેવી' ને ત્યારે જ એક સરસ વાત સમજાઈ ગઈ કે-
 ઉન્મક્ત ગગનમાં ઉડવા...
 ઊંચાઈઓને પામવા..
 ઉંબરો ઓળંગીને દૂર ક્યાંક ઉડવુ જોઇયે...
 ઉત્સાહ એકલાથી જીવન ઉત્સવ ન બને.

કહેવાય છે ને કે ટર્નિંગ પોઇન્ટ એ મારા જીવનમાં  ત્યારે આવ્યો જ્યારે હું નવવધૂની જેમ ગુલાબી રંગની બનીને તૈયાર હતી અને ફુમકા વાળા પતન સાથે કન્ના બાંધીને મેં જ્યારે આકાશ તરફ પ્રયાણ કર્યું અને બંને એકબીજાના સહારે ઉડ્યા બંને ને પોતાનું અલગ અસ્તિત્વ છે, પણ એકબીજા વિના કશું નથી એમ પણ કહી શકાય!!!

આખરે મારી મજબૂતાઈ કામે લાગી ગઈ હવા સાથે મેળ બેસી ગયો અને પતંગે સાથ આપ્યો મારો લક્ષ્યને આંબી લીધું એવું લાગ્યું પણ મારી મજબૂતાઈ કોઈની આંગળીઓ તો કોઈની ઉડતી પાંખો માટે પણ ધારદાર નીવડી મને આજે પણ એ વાતનો અફસોસ છે, કે મે મારું વ્યક્તિત્વ અરીસા જેવું રાખ્યું જેમા બધા સાથે સરખો ન્યાય નથી મારે પણ દુનિયાદારી શીખવી જોઈતી હતી, કોની સાથે કેમ કરતું એ જો મને આવડતું હોત તો કદાચ કોઈની સાથે ખોટું ન થયું હોત... પણ, अब पछताए होत क्या जब चिड़िया चुग गई खेत

'મે કાપ્યાં તેમ હું પણ કપાયો' અને એ પણ નક્કી તો હતો જ ને પેલા ન્યૂટનના આઘાત-પ્રત્યાઘાત ના નિયમ જેવું કે કરીયે એવું જ પામીએ અને માટે જ વધુ જીવાણુ હતો એવો કોઇ રંજ આજે નથી થતો ફીરકીથી છૂટી પડેલી દોરી એક ટુકડો માત્ર આજે એવી તો ગૂંચવાઈ ગઇ છું કે મારા સવાલોના જવાબ પણ મારા જીવનની જેમ વણઉકલ્યા રહી ગયા છે. એ ખરી ગયેલા પાંદડાઓ તમે મને સાંભળો છો? શું ઊંચાઈએ ઉડનારનો આ જ અંત હોય છે.?!

Love ni ભવાઈ movie review



On the day of 10th January we went to watch a movie love Ni bhavai Gujarati movie with story of love almost all the film goes as filmy story although it's quite good in music dialogues and themes.
 Theme of the movie is.. -true love.                                                               -friendship
                           - own ideology Vs society

 overall it put good image of Gujarati movies on our mind it shows that Gujarati film industry is growing and coming with many changes and with the new concept.

 In the very beginning of movie female protagonist of a film Antara is a girl with her own views towards life and strong girl in front of society her point of view towards love and marriage system is very negative but a one trip of Diu changed her mind reason is Sagar our orotogonist of movie who actually following her for fulfill his purpose. Sagar wants to take revenge with Antara because Antara is RJ in radio and in past on the day of valentine she become the reason of his break up with Swati but his trip of Diu with Antara changes his mind he falls in love with her and same feeling arising in Antara's heart on the birthday party of Sagar's sister Antara come to know about sagar purpose of meeting her in Diu which is now worthless but she felt hurt and went away. Sagar tries to explain but in those days Antara at Aditya come near and declares that they are going to marry but at the end Antara realise that she actually love Sagar and she should marry with him and in this Aditya help her and become her best friend and at last Antara propose to Sagar and they marry each other in this Aditya, Radio FM city and chaiwala uncle helps her a lot thus the end is little bit melodramatic but overall of Good film.
A nice love story presented within a single scene of kissing audience feel it as romantic movie this the great thing about it.


Northrop Frye - Archetypal criticism

What is  Archetypal Criticism?
  • Archetypal criticism depends heavily on symbols and patterns operating on a universal scale.
  • It is based on Carl Gustav Jung’s (1875-1961) psychological theory. Jung believed in acollective unconscious that lay deep within all of us and contained the “cumulative knowledge, experiences, and images of the entire human race” (Bressler, 1994, p. 92).
  • Jung identified certain archetypes, which are simply repeated patterns and images of human experience found in literature, such as the changing seasons; the cycle of birth, death, rebirth; the hero and the heroic quest; the beautiful temptress.
  • The basis of archetypal criticism is that all literature consists of variations on a great mythic cycle within the following pattern:
1.  The hero begins life in a paradise (such as a garden)
2.  The hero is displaced from paradise (alienation)
3.  The hero endures time of trial and tribulation, usually a wandering (a journey)
4.  The hero achieves self-discovery as a result of the struggles on that journey
5.  The hero returns to paradise (either the original or a new and improved one)
  • The journey motif is very common in children’s stories and usually takes one of the two forms:
1.  The linear journey: The hero moves away from home, encounters adventures, and finds a new home better than the first.
2.  The circular journey: The hero moves away from home, encounters adventures, and returns home a better person.
  • Strength: It allows us to see the larger patterns of literature
  • Limitation: It tends to ignore the individual contributions of the author and the specific cultural and societal influences.
Archetypal Critics
   Archetypal literary criticism was given by impetus by Maud Bodkin's archetypal pattern in poetry 1934 and flourished especially during the 1950 and 9060.
Apart from him...G Wilson Knight,  Robert Graves, Philip Wheelwright, rechard Chase, and Joseph Campbell all are prominent practitioners of various modes of archetypal Criticism.
what does they do?
In their criticism thes critics tended to emphasize the occurance of mythical patterns in Literature, on the assumption that myths are closest to the elemental archetype then the artful manipulation of sophisticated writers.
major theme of their work or architect of archetype of archetypes was 
- the death/ rebirth. 
- cycle of the season. 
- organic cycle of human life. 
- Myths and rituals.

(2) what is Frye trying to prove by giving an analogy of Physics to nature and criticism to literature ?  
Northp Frye says that every organised body of knowledge can be learn progressively, and Physics is oraganized knowledge of Nature thus the students of Physics learn nature but in other hand Literature can not teach but the criticism of literature can be teach to prove that Frye giving an anology physics to nature and criticism to literature. 

(3) My views of Criticism as an organised body of knowledge. Mention relation of literature with history and philosophy.
 Northrop frye says on the relation of literature with history and philosophy that literature is the central division of the Humanities, flanked on one side by history and on other side by philosophy and historian deals with events and Philosopher for ideas but critic use both wisdom of philosophy and action of a history. Thus, literature is a connected with history and philosophy both.

(4) Briefly explain inductive method with illustration of Shakespeare's Hamlet's Grave Digger's scene.
Inductive mathod is using particular facts and from specific to general.
When the Grave Digger's scene of Hamlet arise May audience alredy knows that now something going to bad because the Mineral Structure of Scene is Tragic a grave and also a darkness and cold wind of autumn shows the sign of tragedy. Thus these are the some specific examples from that scene which is lead towards general.

(5)Briefly explain deductive method with reference to an analogy to Music, Painting, rhythm and pattern. Give examples of the outcome of deductive method.
Deductive Method is from general to specific. In this, the researcher takes into account a theory and generates a hypothesis, which can be tested, after that the observation are recorded, which leads to particular data.

(6) Refer to the Indian seasonal grid (below)., please read small Gujarati or Hindi or English poem from the archetypal approach and apply Indian seasonal grid in the interpretation.
Frye talking about solar cycle of the day and solar cycle of year and seasonal grid. Here three examples of poems in three languages Gujrati , Hindi and english shows seasonal grid.

લિ'યો પછેડી દાતરડાં આજ સીમ કરે છે સાદ રે 
રંગે સંગે કામ કરીએ થાય મલક આબાદ રે 
રળનારો તે માનવી ને દેનારો ભગવાન 
સોનાવરણી સીમ બની ભાઈ મેહુલિયે કીધી મ્હેર રે...
Here in this poem Poet Nathalal describes the happiness of farmer bacause season of harvest is comimg. Farm are full with grains and farmers are ready to harvest with great enthusiasm . Thus, the season of harvesting is presented in this poem.

सखि, वसन्त आया ।
भरा हर्ष वन के मन, 
नवोत्कर्ष छाया।

किसलय-वसना नव-वय-लतिका
मिली मधुर प्रिय-उर तरु-पतिका,
मधुप-वृन्द बन्दी-

here another example of hindi poem by Surykant Tripathi Nirala in which poet welcomes the spring and decribes it with nature's metaphors.

 This poem addresses to the winter wind and poem says that it can be blow as much as hard , it can likes because it is not harsh and rude like mens nature of being ungreatful. Use of several methphors like frozen water and sky... Through that poet want to say that the frozen faces of the world are more painful then the frozen water. Thus, here William Shakespeare use winter as tragic season and through it shows people's ungreatful nature.

Parijat

(My poem on my favourite tree Parijat. Few years ago at my home i saw it in sunny days..how lifeless and those words came in my mind ...

 जलती धूप का साक्षी बनकर खड़ा है
 कुंपलों को पान बनाने में लगा है
लगता है शांत सा सागर जैसा पढ़ शांत रहकर भी वह बहुत कुछ सिखाता है
वह अपने आप को जीवंत रखने में अस्तित्व को उत्सव बनाने में लगा है
हरा नहीं है पर....
किसी को छाया देकर
किसी के होठों की मुस्कुराहट बनकर
इस सृष्टि के कोने में रंग बिछाने की आस लेकर खड़ा है अस्तित्व को सुगंध से महकाने
किसी की मीठी यादों को जीवंत बनाने में लगा है

वह जलती धूप का साक्षी बनकर खड़ा है
कुंपलों को पान बनाने में लगा है
चिड़िया की चींचीं लगता है कह रहे हैं उसे की
होता है महसूस दुख देख कर तुझे लेकिन
खिलकर मुरझाना मुरझाकर  खिलना वही तो है जिंदगी है रास्ता चाहे कितना भी लंबा पर 
मंजिल से ही उसकी पहचान है
तुम बस एक बूंद सा विश्वास रखना ह्रदय में
समुंदर तुझसे मिलने आएगा
